Crimea is unique tourist region of the Eastern Europe. And as it is resort region, the social and economic life on peninsula is the subject of seasonal prevalence, and it affects the activity of advertisers too.

The peninsula resident population makes 1969,8 thousand people (for 1.02.2008), however during a hot season the quantity of the living increases several times.

Simferopol - capital of AR Crimea. 1784 is considered as the official date of the city creation

It takes 2nd place on peninsula with population, conceding superiority to Sevastopol. According to 2009 the city population is 337 139 people.

Simferopol — the major transport knot of Crimea. The most part of the destination of republic occurs to an external world through Simferopol. And it is especially important, considering a tourist and resort orientation of all region.

There are placed 69 advertising constructions of “RTM-Ukraine” in the city.

 

Sevastopol - the largest nonfreezing sea trading and fish port, the industrial, scientific and technical, recreational and cultural-historical center.

Administratively the city is divided into 4 areas. 2 of them (Gagarinsky and Lenin) include only city quarters, but Balaklavsky and Nahimovsky areas also include neighboring villages. Also administratively, Inkerman city and sct Kacha belongs to Sevastopol.

Sevastopol — the largest city of Crimean peninsula. According to 2009 its population has made 389 921 people.

 

Alushta - the famous city-resort on southern coast of Crimea. According to 2009, the city population is 39 300 people.

For hundreds of years it was only Aluston fortress constructed by order of Byzantian emperor Justinian I in VI century. The Status of the city Alushta received in 1902, when the small town and its suburb - the Professorial corner became popular resorts.

 

Dzhankoi is the center of Dzhankojsky area, but does not belong to the area itself, and is one of 11 cities of republican submission. Is in the north of republic, in 93 km from Simferopol.

This city would remain an imperceptible small village, if not building of the Lozovo-Sevastopol railway in the end of XIX century, which gave a push to the development of Zaporozhye.

Today Dzhankoi is the large transport knot, one of the major switchyards of the Pridneprovsky railway. By 2006, the city population was 39 700 persons.

 

The settlement Krasnogvardeiskoe is located on the main railway Sevastopol — Simferopol — Melitopol which connects peninsula with continent. The settlement population is 10 700 people (2006).

 

Saki is located at the Western coast of Crimea in 4-5 km from Black sea and in 45 km from Simferopol.

Saki is the oldest balneology mud bath resort: the first mud baths have been opened here in 1827. But people knew a medical mud of Saki lake and used it from Middle Ages. Legends were told about it.

Chumaks went for salt in Saki and delivered it to Kiev, Chernigov, Poltava and other cities of Ukraine and also to some Russian provinces from Saki lake. There are no more such health resorts in Europe that are in Saki.

According to 2006, the resident population of Saki makes 26 400 people.

 

Sudak is located in a valley of the river with the same name. The city is ancient and was founded by Sarmatian tribe of Alans approximately in 212 A.D.

Today Sudak is a known resort, it also is nice for manufacture of branded and sparkling wines and rose attar.

City resident population is 15 500 people according to 2004. the only type of transport, possible in a city is automobile. The city is connected by bus service with Simferopol, Feodosiya and Alushta.

 

Feodosiya — «the God given» — a port and resort city at southeast coast of Crimea.

The city was founded by the Greek colonists from Miletus in VI century B.C. City development goes to the Genoa period. Then, in the Middle Ages, these thoughtful Italians created the largest trading and a seaport with the population more than 70 thousand people (more than in Constantinople) from Kaffa (a medieval name of Feodosiya), with own mint and even theatres which were present far not in every European capital.

In XVIII century the history of great Kaffa has come to the end, and to the beginning of 19th century there were only 300 people in a small city. According to 2009, the population of modern Feodosiya is 71 073 people.

Feodosiya is a climate-balneology resort. Except tourism and transport, the city economy keeps on wine-producing, food, light industry, mechanical engineering, agriculture and fishery.

 

The city of Yalta and so-called «the Big Yalta» — the Yalta region are distinguished in Crimea. This territory, subordinated to the Yalta City Council, occupies a part of southern coast of Crimea from Foros in the west to Gurzuf in the east and includes two cities (Yalta and Alupka) and set of settlements.

According to 2009, the population of Yalta is an order of 100 000 people. However it is data without the settlements of Massandra which have merged with a city and Livadiya.

The population of the Big Yalta is a little more than 140 thousand. During the period from March till September (a high tourist season) the population of Yalta increases to 500 thousand persons.
